Welcome all fellow anglers and competitors to the Fishtec League Fly Fishing Competition website.  Here we will publish the results for both the team and individual placings, from each of the 6 competitions held on both Llandegfedd Reservoir and Chew Valley Lake.

We are pleased to be supported by our sponsors - leading online tackle retailer Fishtec, Dwr Cymru-WelshWater Fisheries and Bristol Water Fisheries, without whom we would not be able to hold such a fiercely contested, but friendly competition.

This is probably the biggest and most competitive fly fishing boat league in the country.  It brings together teams and leading anglers from South Wales and the Bristol area in 6 matches held alternately at Llandegfedd and Chew Valley.

2016 League Results

The final round was fished at Chew on Sunday October 23rd and a challenging but enjoyable days fishing helped to sort out the winners for 2016.

In the Team competition, the prize was taken by Nymphomaniacs (301), finishing well clear of Team Airflo in second (420) who were closely followed by Margam Flyfishers in third (472).  Fishtec kindly provided prizes for all the leading teams of Airflo competition flyboxes, Xceed reels and Airlfo Switch Black cassette reels.

Bristol based Red Emergers came a creditable 4th after winning the final round on their home water, with Team Drifters in 5th and Welsh Wizards in 6th.

In the Individual competition, Anthony Cartwright of Nymphos (32 pts), with 2 separate first places, pipped Allen Hughes (39 pts), also of Nymphos to first place.  Anthony received an Airflo Super Stik Competitor rod.

All anglers received a generous goody bag of Airflo accessories.

We are very grateful to Fishtec for their fantastic support and really pleased to confirm that they have agreed to support the League again in 2017.
